Beirut port experiences huge fire outbreak
Beirut has experienced another rampage as a huge fire outbreak hits its port just one month after the horrific bomb blast that killed many and destroyed houses.
According to a military source, the fire outbreak was caused by cooking oil in the port area that caught fire and somehow made its way into stores filled with tires.
The fire outbreak frightened people around the port vicinity who ran for their life. One of the videos showed Beirut firefighters trying to quench the fire as it continued to increase engulfing more areas around the Beirut port.
According to NNA agency, the governor of Beirut has warned the citizens to stay away from the port area where the fire was razing to avoid interfering with the firefighters who are quenching the fire.
“We do not yet know the cause of the fire, but our priority is putting out the fire immediately,” Lieutenant Al-Murr said.
Michael Al-Murr, a Lieutenant in the Beirut Fire Brigade, said that the fire took place in an area where there are no workers but only oil and tires. Al-Murr added that the source of the outbreak is yet to be known
