UNILORIN announces school resumption date

The University of Ilorin has announced the resumption date for the continuation of their academic session

The senate of the University of Ilorin has announced its academic session's resumption date after a long break due to the ASUU strike.

The school session's resumption date was announced by the university's Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun on Monday, January 4, 2021.

According to Mr. Kunle Akogun, the senate concluded to resume school on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the senate's 285th emergency meeting via Zoom on Thursday.

He added that students would be taking their lectures online to prevent the coronavirus spread, which has hit the world for the second time.

“Following the suspension of the nine-month industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the senate of the University of Ilorin has approved the resumption of academic activities for the Rain Semester from Monday, January 11, 2021.

“Lectures will be through an online platform in line with the directive of the National Universities Commission.

"The Senate also approved the reappointment of Prof. Sylvia Malomo as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Prof. Mikhail Buhari as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation),” Akogun said.
