The Lagos State University has denied the claim going on in social media that the school will start its first-semester examination on September 28, 2020.

The University confirmed the claim as rumour through a statement signed by the Coordinator, Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, LASU, Mr Ademola Adekoya.

“ It has come to the attention of the Lagos State University Management of the malicious and rumour going around the social media that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Olanrewaju Fagbohun, has said that students of the University will commence their first-semester examination on September 28, 2020," it read.

“Members of the University Community (staff and students) and the general public are hereby informed that there is no iota of truth in the information as it did not emanate from the University and are advised to disregard such fake notices", the statement read.

The members of the school senate have also elected Prof. Wahab Olukorede as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Academics) of the University following an election carried out by the board members last week.

Professor Wahab, the former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, won the election with 88 votes, defeating his opponent Prof. Ayodeji Abari who got 43 votes.

Prof. Wahab will be succeeding Prof. Olumuyiwa Noah whose tenure as the schools' DVC ended on Monday, 24th August 2020 after serving for two consecutive terms of four years.
