The National Examination Council, NECO has postponed its paper 1 Computer Studies Practical in the ongoing 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE.

According to NECO, the rescheduled date was due to the ongoing EndSARS and police brutality protest across Nigeria that has blocked many roads including NECO'S head office in the city of Benin.

The council revealed that they wanted to take the examination materials to schools in Nigeria but were unable to achieve that due to the roadblocks caused by the protest.

New date: NECO paper 1 Computer Studies Practical

The Practical examination which was scheduled to be on Monday 19 October 2020 by 10:00 am to 1:00 pm is now postponed and slated to be taken on Monday 16 November 2020 at the same time.

According to a statement released by NECO through its Twitter handle:

"This is to inform the general public, and especially candidates that the National Examination Council (NECO) has been constrained to reschedule the paper 1 Computer Studies Practical's earlier scheduled to take place on Monday 19 October 2020 by 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to Monday 16 November 2020 by 10: 00 am to 1: 00 pm.

"The unforeseen incident has been caused by #ENDSARS protest that blocked the free movement of transport at the city entrance gate Benin.

"The NECO delivery truck has left its take-off point well in advance on Friday 16 October 2020, earlier to deliver examination materials to some states and has been held up in the blockage since then.

"The council wishes to assure all stakeholders and the general public that the affected examination materials have been retrieved and are intact.

"While regretting any inconveniences, this may cause our esteemed stakeholders; the council has, however, taken this decision to maintain the integrity and security of its examination procedure for seamless conduct of the council's examination."
