NECO releases 2020 exam timetable, set to install CCTV in centres

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released its timetable for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination 2020 after school resumption.

A spokesman for registrar of NECO, Godswill Obioma revealed the release of the timetable during a briefing at the NECO's headquarter Mina, Niger State on Tuesday, August 11 2020.

The council also added guidelines and protocols that must be observed during the exam and stated it would be installing CCTV cameras in all its examination centres.

According to Godswill, the 2020 NECO Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) would start on October 5 and end on November 18, 2020.

He also said that the NECO Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) would commence from Monday, August 24 and end on September 4 2020.

The National Common Entrance Examination for Junior Secondary School students who will be entering into the Federal Unity Colleges would hold on October 17.

The spokesman reminded students that the council would not allow any malpractice during the exam warning them to clear of it.

“Student and pupils preparing to sit for our examinations are advised to study very hard and avoid the temptation of wanting to cheat during the examination as the council has zero-tolerance for examination malpractice".

The council also reminded the examination officials of their respective roles and responsibilities. It said they would be made to sign an oath of allegiance as a requirement for their duty.
