The BB Naija winner housemate, Laycon, was condemning the fact that the government and politicians in the country are more concerned and focused on campaigns for elections despite the unending closure of universities.

Laycon who is also a singer and rapper said he was really scared, wondering about the kind of government Nigeria had.

The singer, who won the ‘BBNaija lockdown’ season five in 2020, and the youth ambassador of Ogun State, took to his Twitter account via @itsLaycon on Monday, April 25, 2022, and said, “I’m scared ooo, I’m really scared. Laycon had once revealed that the NASU strike robbed him of the opportunity to study in the UK.

According to Laycon at the time, he was billed to travel to the varsity but did not go eventually as he couldn’t obtain his transcript which was an essential requirement to facilitate the process for his travel.

“There are lots of such moments for me. When I rejected admissions into different schools just because I wanted to go into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is one,” he said.

“Also, when I got the opportunity to study in a university in Newcastle, UK but I couldn’t go because I did not get my transcript due to the fact NASU was on strike at the time.”

The 28-year-old Laycon also won the ‘Artist Of The Year’ at the 2020 “Naijatraffic Awards.”

Laycon began his singing career at a tender age and began rapping and writing songs. By 2014, he had performed at the 2014 Coke Studio University of Lagos event.

efore his journey into the BBNaija house season 5, Laycon signed into Fierce Nation record label in 2019. On 21 February 2019, he released a track, "Fierce" with Chinko Ekun and Reminisce from his second EP Who Is Laycon?

As the Youth Ambassador of Ogun State Laycon has lent his voice to push for change in various social gatherings. It is why he has also expressed concern over the strike and the decaying educational system in Nigeria.

Recall that ASUU declared a month's warning strike against the federal government back in February to push for some of their demands from the Federal Government.

As expected at the end of the warning strike posed by the union in March, ASUU decided to proceed with another two months of industrial action.

Among their demands, the union called for the release of the reports on visitation panels to federal universities.

ASUU also clamored for a standard size up in salary payment challenges, providing funds for revitalizing public universities, providing an academic allowance, and improving the funding of state universities.

All federal schools around the country are involved in the compulsory strike including Unilag where Rema recently gained admission.

The 'Dumebi' crooner also lamented and even made his intentions known about enrolling in private universities; Bowen and Babcock.
