Burnaboy hits 200million streams on Boomplay

Popular self acclaimed African giant Burna boy has added another feather to his music cap by hitting 200 million streams on Boomplay- making him the first African artiste to be streamed 200 million times on Africa's #1 streaming service, Boomplay.

Last year,  Burna Boy was celebrated as the first artist to hit the 100 million streams milestone on Boomplay. It is no surprise that he has doubled the feat.

Burna's groundbreaking record of monster hits and streaming  Boomplay streams are calculated based on industry-recognized standards in which only no less than thirty-second stream is equal to one stream count.

The Grammy award winner, Burnaboy has experienced unprecedented growth in the last few years of his arrival. Especially since the release of the Outside album, which currently  stands as 10 million streams.

Following up with another album, African Giant, which was critically acclaimed and nominated for the Grammy award, now has a whopping 43 million streams, this is four times more than the previous body of work. Of course bulk of his growth can be traced to his style of music and major influence from legendary Fela.

Burnaboy's fan base has also provided support, his 2020 album Twice As Tall has been streamed twice more than African giant, standing at over 80 million streams on Boomplay.
