Grammy award winners 2022: Wizkid, Tems lose to Angelique Kidjo
Angelique Kidjo won Grammy for her album "Mother Nature". The album also features Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi and more on different songs.

The 64th Grammy awards show was initially scheduled for Jan 31st, 2022, held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Amid the just concluded controversial Oscars, the Grammy awards are the biggest music event in the year, with winners going home with shiny, sleek gramophones.
And as usual, this year is no exception as the Awards night recognised recordings released between (Sept 1, 2020- Sept 30, 2021)
It was an unforgettable night for Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo who added the Best Global Music album win to her four gramophones over the years. Kidjo’s ‘Mother Nature album, which earned her the Grammy, is her first album of original music in seven years. Her latest win beats Wizkid, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti at the 64th MGM Arena, Las Vegas.
Also, in the best Global Music Performance category, Brooklyn-based Pakistani vocalist, Arooj Aftab, emerged as the winner in the nomination that included Angelique Kidjo, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti, Yo Ma, and Wizkid and Tems for Best Global music performance.
At the televised event, Wizkid, Femi Kuti, and Made Kuti lost out in the two categories, Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album, respectively.
Jon Batiste led the night with 11 nominations and five awards
The highlights of the Grammy award night saw John Batiste emerge as the winner of the night for the Album of the year category, a record of the year, Best music video, after leading with 11 nominations which inc des everything from rap to jazz.
Coming in close to Batiste was the duo Silk Sonic who grabbed the night's big categories: “Leave the Door Open” won record of the year, as well as best R&B song. Silk Sonic also tied Jazmine Sullivan for best R&B performance.
Following closely behind is 19-year-old Olivia Rodrigo, who wins Best Pop Local Album for "Sour" and Best New Artiste present by Jared Leto, Dua Lipa and Megalion. Olivstartedinitely the star of the night as she beats Billie Eilish in Best Solo Pop Performance for "Driver's License".
Lady Gaga is not left out this time as she won an award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for "Love for Sale" alongside Tony Bennett.
The Grammy award was hosted by "The Daily Show" presenter Trevor Noah and saw mind-blowing performances from Jon Batiste(Freedom), Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga, Silk Sonic and others.
