It seems the impregnable wishes of the Wizkid FC fan base has come to fruition. The Afrobeat star Wizkid's "Made In Lagos" was nominated for Best Global music album and "Essence" Best Global music.

In July, Wizkid and Tems "Essence" became the first Nigerian song to smash the music chart making it the third in Africa.

Four weeks later ''Essence" climbed 23 spots to hit the 59th position on the billboard 100 chart. So it wasn't a surprise when Wizkid recreated the smashing single with Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

Tems collaboration with Wizkid's "Essence" adds her to the artist nominees in the category. Femi Kuti and Made Kuti's album "Legacy" were also nominated for Best Global music album.

Also nominated in the category is " Pa Pa Pa" by Femi Kuti and Do yourself "by Angelique Kidjo and Burnaboy.

Burnaboy's " Twice as tall " album was nominated for the "Best Global Music Album" category in the 2021 Grammy Awards. This nomination gave the African giant his first Grammy.

Fans can only hope that the same pattern will play out for Big Wiz. Last year, Wizkid won a Grammy Award in the Best music video category for the "Brown Skin Girl" song with Beyonce.
