Mo Abudu responds to critics on Chief Daddy 2

"We've heard you loud and clear", Ebony Life CEO Mo Abudu reacts to reviews on Chief Daddy 2.

Today, January 14, 2022, Mo Abudu, the CEO of Ebony Life Studios has addressed the negative reviews and critics of ‘Chief Daddy 2’, her latest movie.

In a an almost three minutes video the filmmaker appreciated fans who had supported the brand over the years.

The 57 year old also pacified critics saying " Thank you so much for caring and sharing your concerns so passionately.

We have heard you loud and clear" Mo said.

The Filmaker also spoke on appreciating the feedback and the not so positive ones as they are constructive for her and her team.

Although, she further reiterated that Ebony Life will not welcome "Insults, abuse or any form of trolling towards her or her team".

We are aware of the mixed reactions to the release of ‘Chief Daddy 2’ on the first of January on Netflix,” she stated.

“While some enjoyed the film, others did not. I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our Chief Daddy fans that felt some disappointment with the sequel. My goodness, we trended on social media on New Year’s Day!

Mo Abudu responded to criticism on her latest film "Chief Daddy 2".

“We know you love and care about the industry and for the Ebony Life brand, hence the concerns that you raised. Thank you so much for caring and for sharing your concerns. So passionately, we have heard you loud and clear.

“Over the years, we’ve been the privileged recipients of your support for our productions: ‘Fifty’, ‘The Wedding Party’, ‘The Royal Hibiscus Hotel’, ‘Your Excellency’, ‘The Governor’, ‘Castle & Castle’, ‘Oloture’, and ‘Chief Daddy 1’.

“When you express disappointment with us, please know your voices are heard. Just as we appreciate the positive feedback and reviews, we also appreciate the not-so-positive ones as they are constructive for me and my team.”

The media mogul disclosed ongoing projects scheduled for the remaining part of the year.

“I’m pleased to inform you that we’ve expanded our team of creatives as we continue to grow and expand,” she said.

“I’m delighted to let you know that we have amazing projects lined up for you to enjoy in the coming months. I thank you for your impassioned feedback. I know that it comes from a place of pride and love for Nigerian films.

“We welcome honest and constructive feedback. What we do not welcome is insults abuse or any form of trolling. Please share your feedback respectfully, otherwise, we’ll have to restrict entry to you on our pages.”

Chief Daddy 2:Going for broke faced heavy backlash for it's undeveloped plot.

Recall that on the new year's eve, January 1 2022, Chief Daddy 2 was released on Netflix.

Since the movie's release it has sparked a wave of negative remarks across social media and in the press.

Some critics inferred to disjointed storylines while others chided the movie for what they described as an “overstretched” plot.

The film, directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and produced by EbonyLife’s Mo Abudu, is a sequel of the original Chief Daddy film, which was released in 2018.

The original film, Chief Daddy follows a train of dependent family members on stinkingly rich billionaire Chief Beecroft.

Chief Daddy 2 is a continuation of the tussle to claim all the billionaire's wealth.
