Award-winning Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli celebrated her birthday anniversary on Friday, April 22, and was lovingly celebrated by fans and well-wishers on social media. 

The actress who has termed herself a workaholic was apparently at a movie location for a new project and it turned out she couldn’t have a grand birthday celebration as she would like.

However, Omoni Oboli's location or work wasn't going to stop her from having a swell time as shown in videos that have now gone viral online.

Veteran actress Hilda Dokunbo shared videos of the 44-year-old Omoni Oboli with a caption urging fans to wish her a happy birthday.

 The video saw the mother of three,  Omoni, and a tray of goodies that had been brought for her to celebrate the special day.

Other celebrities and colleagues in Nollywood shared beautiful pictures of the actress dressed in a gorgeous red mini sequins dress.

The 44-year-old also posted on her Instagram page celebrating herself.

"This is what 44 looks like❤Thank you Jesus for growth all around.” She captioned the post.

Omoni Oboli is an actress, scriptwriter, producer and filmmaker

Omoni Oboli began her movie career with her first movie role in Bitter Encounter (1996), where she played a secretary. Her next movie was Shame and then went on to play the lead female character in three major movies; Not My Will, Destined To Die and Another Campus Tale. 

After basking in her success in the Nollywood industry, Omoni took a break in 1996, Omoni left the movie industry to complete her university education.

Upon her return in 2009, the Nollywood industry had moved past her era, so Omoni decided to become a producer and has produced movies such as " Wives on Strike", the Rival-a movie co-produced with her friend and won the prize for Best International Drama at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.

Omoni Oboli is not just a pretty head but also a talented, dogged and disciplined actress, producer and filmmaker. Last year she starred in a political drama "Love is War" alongside Richard Mofe Damijo.

In 2010, she won the award for Best Actress Narrative Feature at the Los Angeles Movie Awards, and the award for Best Actress at the Harlem International Film Festival. Omoni was nominated for the Best Actress in a leading role award at the 2011 Africa Movie Academy Awards.

Omoni Oboli was born on 22 April 1978 and studied at the New York Film Academy. She's married to Nnamdi Oboli and they have three sons.
