On the 13th of March 2022, according to Nigeria Box Office, Toyin Abraham has crowned the highest-grossing actress for 2021 as she closed the year with a whopping N357m.

The movie star actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham shared her excitement with fans on social media via her Instagram page.

Just in case my shoulder is high (joking), I say let me remind you again this morning. Congratulations to everyone on the list." She wrote.

Toyin's new win comes from her 3 movie features which accumulated a total of N357 million naira. The lead is curvy actress Osas Ighodaro with N200 million naira.

Surprisingly, actress Funke Akindele failed to make a list despite her shattering success with "Omo Ghetto the saga" box office sales of 2021. 

Nancy Isime also did not cut the list 

Other Nollywood actresses who made it to the list include Mercy Johnson, Sophia Alakija, Chioma Okafor, Omowunmi Dada.

Leading the pack of the highest-paid actresses of 2021 is no small feat for Toyin Abraham.

The movie star Toyin Abraham has a staggering following of 7.3 million people on Instagram.

Toyin, who hails from Edo state, lurched into the acting industry in  2003, when Nigerian actress Bukky Wright came to Ibadan to shoot a movie.

The mum of one bagged her first role in Bukky Wright’s Yoruba movie Dugbe Dugbe No.

A director, producer and actress, Toyin Abraham has many Nigerian film productions in her name, including Alani Baba Labake and Ebimi ni.

When the Best Of Nollywood Awards happened in 2013, Toyin Abraham was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ebimi ni, alongside Joke Muyiwa, nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Yoruba film titled Ayitale. 

In the 2016 Nigerian film, Omo Elemosho was nominated for Best Nigerian Film at the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA).

Toyin doubles as a viral influencer for brands and businesses. She is currently an ambassador for the cereal brand, Checkers custard.

Based on her acting career, Toyin has also been called upon by politicians to campaign for them. At one of the programs for Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election bid in 2015, the actress said she was prepared to die for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on whose platform Jonathan is contesting. 

Her statement didn't sit well with fans as she later apologised to fans for the comments and advised Nigerians not to spill their blood for any politician.

The 37year old mother of one also tried her hands at reality TV, where Martini Animashaun, the CEO of Tinimash Entertainment, created and managed her reality show titled (KUWTA) 'Keeping Up With Toyin Aimakhu'.

In 2020, Toyin Abraham was the ambassador for Revolution Plus properties, a Lagos based property outfit.

Toyin Abraham has also directed and released numerous movies, including the famous Nollywood movie Fate of Alakada and its sequel, "Party Planner".

An actress with a wide acting range, Toyin starred in "Elevator Baby" while she was heavily pregnant with her son. She has starred in other movies, including Bling Lagosians, Mokalik, Who's the Boss and Prophetess.

Toyin Abraham is married to her sweetheart and colleague in the acting industry, Kolawole Ajeyemi.

Last year she threw a surprise birthday appearance for her husband; the couple have a son together
