UK Wireless Festival 2022: Burna boy, Fireboy, Cuppy and Ayra Starr set to perform

Wireless Festival announced its roster for the 2022 event on February 28, 2022.

This year's event unveils Nigerian music stars, Burna Boy, Rema, Ayra Starr, Fireboy, Cuppy, and Omah Lay who are set the perform at the event alongside global stars like Tyler The Creator, J.Cole, Cardi B, Asap Rocky, Nicki Minaj, and more.

Other star acts like Little Simz, Summer Walker, Polo G, Ari Lennox, are set to be joined by DJ Edu and Cuppy.

Previous editions of the show saw, Nigerian stars like Wizkid and Davido, also perform at the event.

This year's Wireless Festival 2022 will be held in three separate locations - two in London and one in Birmingham(Crystal Palace Park, Finsbury Park, and Outdoor at the Birmingham NEC).

The festival will run across two consecutive weekends 1-3 July and 8-10 July respectively.

Although, Burna boy, Fireboy, Ayria Star will perform at only one of the three locations.

The initial lineup was announced and includes Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, J.Cole, SZA, Doja Cat, and Tyler, The Creator.

Recognized as the biggest UK festival dedicated to urban sounds, Wireless Festival has continuously hosted some of the biggest names in rap, hip-hop, grime, R&B, and beyond in London.

Wireless Festival was first held back in 2005 and has since featured headline acts such as Chicago rapper  Kanye West, Jay Z, Rhianna, Bruno Mars, and Stormzy.

How to get Wireless Festival 2022 tickets

On Monday, 10am 28 February all general release started. So all tickets alerts and new announcements of artists can be found on the Wireless Festival website.

Wireless Festival 2022 will be covered by media giants, BBC Radio and 1Xtea who are first time partners with Wireless festival  

The radio station will not only bring the live music to fans but also exclusive interviews and DJ sets during the nine days of the event.

What is Wireless Festival about?

Every year in London England, the Wireless Festival which is a rap music festival takes place.

Owned and managed by Live Nation, Wireless Featival, started as primarily a rock and pop festival, in recent years it has focused on hip hop and other urban music. 

Some of its headline acts since 2010 have included Jay-Z, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Stormzy.

Starting in 2005 up until 2008, the festival was sponsored by telecommunications company O2, and was called the O2 Wireless Festival. Then from 2009 to 2012, the main sponsor had changed to Barclaycard and the festival renamed to Barclaycard Wireless Festival.

By 2013, the sponsor changed again to Yahoo!, and was renamed, Yahoo! Wireless. However, since 2015, the sponsor has been the fashion retailer New Look.
