Davido’s album ‘A Good Time’ becomes most streamed African album ever

"A Good Time" album released by Nigerian famous musician Davido in 2019 has become the most-streamed album in Africa

The album which was released on November 22, 2019, through Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), RCA Records and Sony Music, was Davido's second studio album after his first album " Omo Baba Olowo".

It is just some months after the release of the album and it has recorded over 1 billion streams worldwide with people around the world going crazy about the music in the album.

The streams were confirmed by the American record label "Columbia Records UK" own by Sony Music Entertainment which has a contract with the popular Nigerian hip hop artist Davido.

Posting on Twitter Columbia Records UK said: " "HUGE congrats to @davido - 'A Good Time' has officially reached OVER 1 BILLION streams! "

A Good Time album featured many famous musicians in Nigeria and outside the country with the likes of Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Gunna, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Dremo, Peruzzi, Popcaan, Zlatan, Yonda, Wurld and Naira Marley all in the list.

Also, the album was produced by different music producers with Speroach Beatz, Tekno, Shizzi, Kiddominant, P2J, London on da Track, Fresh VDM, Seyi, Teekay Witty, Ray Keys and Vstix all among.

The album was supposed to have a North American tour show from the beginning of the winter and end in spring 2020, but it was later postponed by Davido in March 2020 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The over 1 billion streams  is a good news for Davido as his album gives him an edge over other music albums in Africa and also being the first album he is releasing under Sony Music after signing a huge contract with the record label.
