Former BBNaija housemate, Khafi Kareem, has revealed that she was raped some time ago.

This revelation is coming after the rape and murder of a Uniben student, Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.

Since the ugly incident that took place in RCCG church in Benin city, different reactions and comments have been going on social media.

The incident seems to have opened up fresh wounds in the hearts of many who were once victims of rape.

It prompted the hashtags #WhyIDidntReport, #WeAreTired and #StopRapingWomen which are now trending on micro-blogging website, Twitter and ladies are telling their sad rape experiences, and it is quite disheartening.

BBNaija housemate, Khafi Kareem also took to her twitter page to narrate her ordeal with a rapist. According to her, she was raped and failed to report the case because her rapist apologized later, and she was blamed for getting raped after she told someone about the incident.

"#WhyIdidntReport - because he apologized right after. Because I made myself believe him being drunk was an excuse. Because the one person I did tell said I caused it. Because I felt dirty and ashamed. #WeAreTired", she tweeted.

Khafi asserts she shared her experience as a means to encourage others who have had several encounters with such an ugly incident.

"This happened to me, and I'm sharing in the hope that others like me will feel no shame in sharing what happened to them. Please don't deflect or say it is not my story when it was already hard enough sharing it."

However, after so many agitations from Nigerians, the IG of police promised that the perpetrators of the act would be brought to book.

Yesterday, one of the suspects responsible for raping and killing Uwa was arrested by the Edo police command.

Confirming the arrest, Spokesman of Edo Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor told reporters in the state that the suspect was arrested after the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined.

"The item used in the assault, which was a fire extinguisher, was recovered, immediately the operatives who were with some specialists screened the fingerprints which led to our suspect. The suspect was arrested around the place of the incident.
