West proposes collaboration with Tik Tok to make Christian 'Jesus Tok'
American singer and rapper, Kanye West after being disturbed by the contents of Tik Tok have proposed a collaboration with the Chinese firm, to create a Christian-monitored platform, 'Jesus Tok'.
According to the artist, he is not a huge fan of the contents on Tik Tok and has spoken against the video app as it does not align to his new beliefs as a Christian.
On Monday, Kanye suggested a new form of Tik Tok which would be called 'Jesus Tok' as he was disturbed by several contents on the platform while watching it with his daughter.
He took to his Twitter page and tweeted;
"A VISION JUST CAME TO ME...JESUS TOK. I WAS WATCHING TIK TOK WITH MY DAUGHTER, AND AS A CHRISTIAN FATHER I WAS DISTURBED BY A LOT OF THE CONTENT, BUT I COMPLETELY LOVED THE TECHNOLOGY"
In a follow-up tweet, West asked that the app collaborates with him in creating a "Christian monitored version". He wrote;
"WE PRAY WE CAN COLLABORATE WITH TIK TOK TO MAKE A CHRISTIAN MONITORED VERSION THAT FEELS SAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE WORLD IN JESUS NAME AMEN"
It is not clear the exact content he was referring to. However, his concerns about the Tik Tok contents does not sound surprising as reports surfaced online on October which claims that the rapper had asked his family members and staff to uphold Christian values around him.
Tik Tok, which is a Chinese-owned popular social media platform used for creation, sharing and discovery of short music videos have been under fire by the government of the United States.
Earlier this month, President Trump had issued an executive order for the ban of Tik Tok and other Chinese social media apps if they don't sale out to a U.S-based company.
