Police probe Rahama Sadau for posting ‘indecent’ photos on Twitter

The Nigeria Police Force is set to probe Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau over her now-famous photos where she wore a back-bare dress.

Addressing a petition written by one Mallam Lawal Gusau, The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, ordered the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Umar Muri, to investigate Rahama Sadau.

According to Punch, the letter was signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the IG, Idowu Owohunwa asking the commissioner to look into the matter.

The letter is titled, ‘Complaint of Causing and Acknowledging Derogatory and Blasphemous Comments against Prophet Muhammed On Rahama Sadau, Kaduna, Kaduna State and Request for Urgent Intervention’.

“I am to convey the directive of the Inspector General of Police that you treat proactively to ensure that the development does not result in any activity that could threaten public peace and security.

The Inspector-General of Police further directs that you furnish him with updates accordingly," part of the IGP's letter read.

This is coming days after the Rahama Sadau came under severe backlash on Twitter from the Northern part of the country over her photos.

Rahama Sadau shared photos of herself rocking the champagne gold gown which showcased her back and her curves on her Twitter handle.

Members of Arewa Twitter saw the photos and have been attacking Rahama Sadau online.

According to the 'Arewa Twitter', the photos were indecent, provocative, and against their religion.

While reacting to the backlash, the actress who is currently under suspension by the northern movie industry, stated that she was not a party to the tweets that were perceived as blasphemous.

Others criticized Rahama Sadau, saying her dress does not conform to the tenets of Islam.
