This is making it the second consecutive time Burna Boy is winning the BET Awards as he also emerged the winner in the same category in the previous year thus, making him the first artiste making such wins at the BET.

The talented singer who also gave an interesting speech about black lives matter was nominated alongside South African singer, Sho Madjozi, the British rapper, Stormzy, Ninho from France and some others.

Due to the pandemic, the Award was presented by the famous British model, Naomi Campbell through a video call. Burna Boy used the opportunity of delivering his award speech to push forward his take on how to make black lives matter.

"I'll like to use this opportunity to say that sometime around 1835, there was a mission to turn Africa into a dominated nation. Now is the time to return and go back to the royalty that we were because, in order for black lives to matter, Africa must matter", he said.

The news of his Award also stirred excitement online as expected as many social media users took to the platform to celebrate his big win.
