HEFAMAA, PharmAcess partner on HealthFIT mobile app
The Lagos State Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency has said it has commenced the movement of its activities from manual to electronic android-based mobile application to make for more efficient inspection and monitoring of health facilities within the state.
The organisation made this known via a statement where it said, the migration with support from PharmAcess Foundation would improve efficiency in licensure, inspection as well as quality monitoring.
According to the Country Director of PharmAcess, Njide Ndili, the HealthFIT is an android-based mobile application designed for the inspection and monitoring of health facilities within the state.
She stated that PharmAcess is committed to offering its support to HEFAMAA and the Lagos State Ministry of Health so as to improve the quality of healthcare services in the state.
The HealthFIT app, she said, would enable the easy collection, management and processing of data in a simple interface which is essential for the registration of qualified healthcare providers onto the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme.
She talked about the role that technology would play in enabling efficiency and effectiveness in the health care sector.
"Technology as an enabler is critical for transparency, efficiency and effectiveness, especially in the health care system.
"We recently trained HEFAMMA inspectors and other administrative staff of the agency in the use of HealthFIT in preparation for two-week field pilot of the application", Ndili said.
Ndili added that the Executive Secretary of HEFAMMA, Dr Abiola Idowu had commended the new initiative as it would make for more efficient inspection and monitoring of health facilities in Lagos.
"Idowu expressed confidence that when the application is fully operational, health care facility monitors and inspectors in the state will have the benefit of delivering credible and objective reports with faster and seamless operations and will go a long way in enhancing staff productivity", she said.
