Former IGP of Police, Musiliu Smith loses wife, Ariat Aderoju

Nigeria's former inspector general of police and chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Alhaji Musiliu A.K Smith has lost his wife, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith to the cold hands of death.

Her death was announced on in a statement on Saturday, June 6 which said she died on Friday, June 5 at age 69. According to the report, her remains will be laid to rest on Saturday in accordance with Islamic rites.

The government has said only immediate family members will be allowed to attend the burial and that the funeral will be conducted in strict compliance with the directives of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on COVID-19 social distancing protocol.

In another related news, it has been reported that a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos state (Muniru Adekunle Muse is dead).

The former lawmaker who represented Lagos central senatorial district at the Senate was reported to have died on Tuesday at the Ahmadiyya hospital Apapa after a brief illness.
