Lekki shooting: Lai Mohammed labels DJ Switch a fraud
The Federal Government of Nigeria has labelled DJ Switch a fraudster after she testified to CNN on the shooting of endsars protesters at the Lekki toll gate.
The Nigerian DJ, DJ Switch, whose real names are Obianuju Catherine Udeh while speaking to CNN, testified about the Nigerian Army shooting live at peaceful endsars protester at the Lekki Tollgate on the 20th of October 2020.
The government, through its Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, November 19, 2020, called DJ Switch a fraudster and said she will soon be exposed.
According to Lai Mohammed, the testimony made by DJ Switch was all fake news and that instead of presenting her evidence to the panel, she ran away from the country claiming her life was in danger.
Mohammed said that DJ Switch was trying to tarnish the image of the country and went to apply for asylum in another country. The minister went on and called her a fraudster, saying that her motives will soon be exposed.
DJ Switch earlier made a video of where she showed the bullet that was used to shoot EndSARS protesters at Lekki tollgate
“One of the purveyors of fake news was one DJ Switch which real name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, even though she claimed authentic evidence of mass killings, " Lai Mohammed said.
"Surprisingly, instead of presenting whatever evidence she may have, she chose to escape from the country on the claim that her life was in danger. In danger for who?
“Her conduct thus becomes suspect. Who is she fronting for? What is her real motive? Who are her sponsors? If she has any evidence, why is she not presenting such evidence to the panel?
"Since she was very desperate for asylum in any country, did she have to resort to blatant falsehood to tarnish the image of the country?
“In the fullness of time, this lady will be exposed for who she is, a fraud, a front for divisive and destructive forces.
Mohammed also urged Nigerians to make sure that they get to the root of the allegation on the federal government before judging anything.
“At this juncture, we want to appeal to countries that have made faulty judgements based on fake news and disinformation emanating from EndSARS crisis to endeavour to seek and find the truth", Lai Mohammed said.
