US election: Biden wins 11 states with 126 electoral votes
President Donald Trump and his Democratic Party opponent, Joe Biden have been on the hot race for the White House seat even as polls gradually close around the United States on Tuesday.
It has been a long night of waiting for results. The first results which came in projected wins for the Republican incumbent President Trump.
He won the votes in 13 states including Kentucky, Indiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia - those states he won back in 2016.
Biden, on the other hand, captured 11 states which include the big prize New York, the capital city of Washington as well as his home state Delaware. All the states he claimed were won by the Democrat candidate, Hillary Clinton in 2016.
So far, this gives Trump 89 electoral votes and Biden 126 electoral votes. The magic number here is 270. Observers are still watching this hot contest and anticipating more results.
