Apex Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, and the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Gani Adams, have reacted to the controversial comments by the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo.

Bodejo in an interview said that Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore had noted that the Fulani own Nigeria and will rule the country forever.

Abdullahi also revealed that his organisation had concluded arrangements to flag-off its security outfit with about 5,000 to 100,000 vigilantes to be deployed across all the states of the country.

In his words, "My organisation Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, we are trying to set up our security outfit.

We are considering starting with 5000 personnel. While their own is Amotekun, our own name shall be unveiled soon. We have not decided on its name; maybe, it may be called, Miyetti Allah Vigilante."

He explained that the Coronavirus had delayed the take-off of the outfit because of the social distancing policy even though "nothing concerns Fulani man with Coronavirus."

"We are meeting, anytime from now; we make our plans public. We will first start with 5,000 personnel. It is going to be across the country because there is no angle you cannot find the Fulani in this country."

He insisted that the Fulani has the rights "to go and settle in any bush in this country without asking anybody for permission."

"It is not against the law in this country. Who would they go to take permission from, is it the animals in the bush?

They produced the first prime minister. If they produced the first president, another president, another president and so on, are they not the owner of the country?

Fulani is ruling Nigeria, and they must continue to rule the country forever. That is the truth."

However, Bodejo has refuted the claim after he came under attack by other Nigerians. He said in a statement issued to journalists on Sunday that it was a blatant fabricated lie by the enemies of the Fulani people.

Adams reacting to the statement said the group’s audacious statement showed that it enjoyed some powerful sponsors.

He added that the agitation by the Fulani to perpetuate power to themselves forever could only be resolved by restructuring.

He noted that what gives the Fulani the confidence is that what has been happening from the past shows that the Fulani and Northerners indeed own Nigeria.

“That is what has been giving them the temerity to claim that they own Nigeria. When you look at the existing security architecture, you will agree with them that they own Nigeria.

“When you see Northerners holding 90 per cent of the country’s architecture, you cannot deny their claims. How many Southerners have headed the Customs, Immigration? Look at the present composition, would you doubt that they own Nigeria?

But the governors of the southern states must wake up and address this issue. They cannot because of trying to be politically correct to keep quiet when they are supposed to talk,” he noted.

Reacting to the issue, Yinka Odumakin, Afenifere who spoke through his Publicity Secretary said “What did the IPOP do when the Federal Government rolled out arms against them? IPOB didn’t threaten the peace of the country the way Miyetti Allah is doing, yet see what happened to them.”

We would not be addressing those thugs; we would be addressing their sponsors and collaborators to know what they are playing with,” Afenifere said.

He added the Fulanis can only predict the beginning but may not know the end, warning them to be very careful.

The group’s statement added that Afenifere was not expecting the President Muhammadu Buhari government to say anything or take any action against Miyetti Allah, “because, in the past, they have always made excuses for them.”
