The holy bible, is an ancient book of prophetic writings, a doctrine and way of life

While many doubt the authenticity of the Bible, there are still very glaring proofs that the bible is a modern Book and that the Bible is real.

The world today is filled with lots of ideologies, principles, teachings, interpretations, and so many sorts of things. Science and technology have brought us a bigger picture of the universe.

The purpose of Science and Technology is to understand the deeper meaning of life, the world we live in and in turn, engineer our understanding towards making life easier and better for the common man.

This has worked out but has also come with its own disadvantages. The rate of global pollution, the emergence of man-made diseases, the creation of war tools, the increase in environmental hazards, such as earthquakes, flooding, etc are all glaring instances of the bad products of science and technology.

With that said, the benefits can not be downplayed.

Science illuminates our mind, teaches and enriches us with knowledge.

Another very important side of science is that it teaches us to question everything, and seek for proofs, for answers. Nothing is true until proven otherwise.

That is why we all cherish it, the reason we all love science as it gives man the freedom to explore his universe. With science and technology, we become creators, adventurers, and go-getters.

In our quest to be scientists, people of great minds, we look into religion, a sector of humanity where everything is about faith in some sort of an invisible being, a God, who is above all things but yet is unseen. Then we ask, what if all these are lies?

Does God exist? Are all the writings in the bible, the events, the histories, the prophecies, and teachings real? What if these are made-up fairy tales, done to captivate the mind?

Well, the questions are unending, and even till today and beyond, the answers are not definite, nothing has been proven, but at least, there are certain things that give us hints that yes, these things are true.

Today, we list 3 things in the Bible, which we are witnessing today due to the coronavirus pandemic that shows that the Bible could be real and is indeed a modern book, that has important roles to play in our daily lives.

These three things could be proofs that the events and things written in the Bible still affect the modern world and our lives today.

1. Wash Your Hands - Exodus 30: 17-21

Today, because of the coronavirus pandemic, we are asked to wash our hands properly in order to stay safe and avoid contracting the deadly disease.

Hand washing which has been imposed on the world today, is a ritual and an instruction given to the Isrealites as written in Exodus Chapter 30

In the book of exodus, chapter 30 from verse 18 to 21. Aar'on and his sons, who are the ordained priests of the Israelites were to wash their hands before performing their daily rites. This is a hygienic practice, a practice ordained by God and given to Mose.

17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 "Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it.

20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord,

21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, one can read this and question it. Why would they die for not washing their hands, but today, that question is less vocal, right?

It is notable to add here that in Jewish practise, washing of hands is indeed a ritual which transcends washing before and after meals.

They are to wash their hands several times just as the world is advised to do today to combat the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The basis for their handwashing practise links to the Temple services, which comes from the Bible verses shared above.

All Bible quotations or verses were picked from the New International Version (NIV)

2. Keep distance, cover your mouth, avoid contact - Leviticus 13

Today, the highest response of the world to the Coronavirus pandemic is to shutdown social activities, and maintain distance. Everybody is to sanitise himself and keep a distance.

In the Bible, people distanced themselves from the Leprous. Today, we practise social distancing, staying away from people diagnosed with COVID-19

In the book of Leviticus, chapter 13, we can clearly see how people with Leprosy were treated. They are to live alone and remain distanced from the group.

That is another proof that these events might not be made up, and indeed, is still playing out in our modern world.

3. 14 days quarantine - Leviticus 13: 4-5

Not only do we keep distance, but infected individuals are to quarantine for 14 days because of the coronavirus. The same thing happened in the Bible, in the book of Leviticus 13, from verse 4 to 5.

4. If the shiny spot on the skin is white but does not appear to be more than skin deep and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest is to isolate the affected person for seven days.

On the seventh day the priest is to examine them, and if he sees that the sore is unchanged and has not spread in the skin, he is to isolate them for another seven days

Clearly, if these things were recorded in the Bible, something that we very much witness today, then there is really something to ponder about this ancient book, and take it seriously.

What do you think? What do you make of the world today? Do you think the things that are written in the Bible still influence our world today?
