Controversy as Nigerians mistake Pastor Chris Okotie for Pastor Wilson Okotie

Pastor Chris Okotie, the Senior Pastor of Household of God, has been mistaken to be Pastor Wilson Okotie, a pastor who died of Covid-19 in Delta state.

The rumour has it that Pastor Chris Okotie died of coronavirus at his place in Lagos.

However, the pastor has released a statement stating that he is alive, hearty and healthy.

In the statement he released through his media manager, Pastor Ladi Ayodeji, Okotie said the rumours were published by people who do not verify sources of a story.

According to him, his wife brought his attention to the story. By the time he investigated, he had discovered that the pastor who died was another Pastor Okotie in Delta and that it had nothing to do with the wordsmith at the Household of God.

Pastor Wilson Okotie, who died of coronavirus, is a Senior Pastor, High Impact Christian Centre, located along Akintola Road, Opposite Ita Lane, Sapele, Delta State.

Pastor Okotie was said to have been smuggled into a private hospital in Sapele, Delta State, after he developed Coronavirus complications.

He was reported to have died two days after while awaiting evacuation from Treasurehold Specialist Hospital along Ugbeyiyi road in Sapele, where he was admitted and been secretly managed against the COVID-19 virus.

Clacified had earlier reported about a pastor who contacted COVID-19 and was smuggled into a private hospital.

Delta State Ministry of Health Epidemiology inspection/monitoring of health facilities, and incident manager of Covid-19 response team, had stormed the hospital premises, where the deceased was admitted and sealed it, after finding out that two patients were being treated for Coronavirus.

It was also reported that the ambulance that came to evacuate the remains of pastor Wilson a COVID-19 patient was attacked by some persons suspected to be the late man's family members.

According to the source who asked for anonymity, "They attacked the ambulance that came to remove the corpse, threatening to burn it, maybe they were angry that the health status of their brother was revealed.

The driver escaped with the ambulance, and as I speak to you, the chairman is making arrangements with the security agencies to send the team back," he said.
