Russian man who claims to be reincarnation of Jesus arrested
A Russian man Sergei Torop, who claims to be a reincarnation of Jesus has been arrested, according to a report by The Guardian.
Sergei Torop was a former traffic police officer. He lost his job as a traffic officer in 1989 and founded the Church of the Last Testament in 1991.
In 2002, Torop once said “I am not God. And it is a mistake to see Jesus as God. But I am the living word of God the father. Everything that God wants to say, he says through me."
According to the report, Torop and his aides have been benefitting from their religious activities by attracting money from the citizens. They also used psychological abuse on their followers.
The Guardian also reported that choppers and security operatives stormed communities run by Torop, aka Vissarion, and arrested him and two of his aides.
