Goal Records: 5 players to reach fastest 100 club goals in the Premier League
The Premier League is hailed as the toughest league competition globally by most of the top players who have played in it.
Nonetheless, some have come, seen and conquered. They have shone in it, and for the strikers, they’ve racked in the numbers.
It may come as a surprise that one of the best forwards to ever grace the league, Cristiano Ronaldo, hasn’t reached 100 league goals yet.
However, on his second stint with the Red Devils, and his tally standing at 84 goals in 197 appearances, there’s little doubt he will join the Club 100.
He scored two on his second debut for United and heading to Match Day 4. There’s really little doubt that he will carry on with the good run, and most of the top online betting sites will for sure be tipping United for a win and Ronaldo to score.
Some of the bookies, as listed on SportyTrader, have available offers for new users too, for example, Betwinner offers a bonus of up to €130 for new registrations, while Betsson has a bonus offer of up to €125, and Betfair has a £100 bonus for new users, among others.
The league has seen some of the best forwards in world football, and even at the moment, there are more in it. So, who are the strikers who reached the 100 goals mark the fastest? Here we sample them starting with the quickest:
One of the known drives in English teams is the fervent passion amongst the fans.
1. Alan Shearer
The former England international is hailed as the best forward ever seen in the Premier League, and he has the numbers to back him.
Alan scored a total of 260 Premier League goals in 441 appearances for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United. However, his first 100 goals came after 124 matches, making him the fastest to reach that mark.
2. Harry Kane
Another England international to have hit 100+ goals in Harry Kane. The Tottenham Hotspur man is currently on 166 Premier League goals in 248 appearances for Spurs.
To reach 100 goals, the England skipper needed just 141 matches at the North London club. Harry Kane hasn’t scored this season, but his failed attempt to leave the club means the team has at least one more season of Harry Kane’s goals.
The English premier league has been a host to some of the world greatest players.
3. Sergio Aguero
After a very successful stint with Manchester City, Sergio Aguero left for Barcelona, despite a lot of interest from several Premier League teams.
Around his departure, the Argentine had scored 184 goals for City in the league, having played 275 matches. It took him 147 league games to reach the 100 goals mark, making him the third quickest.
4. Thierry Henry
The Frenchman became Arsenal’s greatest player and broke Ian Wright’s goalscoring record to stand as the all-time top scorer for the Gunners.
In 258 appearances in the league, for Arsenal, Henry scored a total of 175 goals. For five consecutive seasons from 2001, Henry’s tallies never went below 24 goals. He needed 160 matches to notch his 100th league goal.
5. Mohamed Salah
Egyptian international Mo Salah is the latest inductee in club 100. He reached the landmark in his team’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday 12th September 2021.
The Liverpool forward needed 162 league games to get to the elite club, and he became the 30th player to score 100 goals since the league’s rebranding in 1992.
Salah has played for two teams in the league, Chelsea, for whom he scored two goals, and Liverpool, where he’s netted 100.
