Arsenal in advance talks with Real Madrid over loan deal for Ceballos
English club Arsenal is in advance talks with Real Madrid over another loan deal for Dani Ceballos. Ceballos spent a season-long loan with the club last season and is set to return to the emirates for the 2020/2021 season.
Ceballos joined Spanish giants Real Madrid from Real Betis in 2017 for a transfer fee of around €18 million. In his first season at the club, he made 22 appearances for Real Madrid in all competition and scored two goals.
In his second season in 2018, the Spanish u21 international could not leave up to expectations as he scored only three goals and made 34 appearances in all competition.
In 2019, Real Madrid decided to loan him to Arsenal on a season-long loan. In his first appearance for Arsenal on August 17 in a 2-1 victory against Burnley, Ceballos gave a man-of-the-match performance, providing two assists for the two goals.
Ceballos won the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2020, and will be hoping to win another title with the club when he completes his loan move
The 24-year-old midfielder created a lot of flexibility for the Arsenal squad with his good passing skills and attacking play. His team play with Arsenal's Granit Xhaka was very impressive towards the end of the campaign.
Ceballos helped Arsenal win the FA Cup and he never stopped following Arsenal, including cheering the team during the community shield final against Liverpool last Sunday, which the club won 5-4 on penalties after going 1-1 at the full time.
Arsenal still retain their interest in signing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid this summer, and Ceballos move to the emirates is believed to not hinder Arsenal's move for the Ghanian International. A bid is expected imminently for Thomas Partey.
There is also a growing interest from Arsenal on Lyon's creative midfielder Houssem Aouar, but his price tag of €50m might be a stumbling block.
