Bournemouth's Nathan Ake seals Manchester City move
Manchester City has completed the signing of Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake on a five-year contract in a disclosed fee of £41 million.
The 25-year-old defender has been linked with City since last week after reports claimed they have agreed on a contract with the player's agent.
On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Ake underwent his medical after Manchester City reached an agreement with his former club Bournemouth who got relegated to the England Championship tournament.
The Netherland international becomes the second signing of City after the signing of Valencia winger Ferran Torres in a fee of £21 million.
Speaking after the signing Ake said,
"City have been the best side in England over the course of the last decade. Coming here is a dream for me. This is a top side full of world-class players. Everywhere you look in this squad, there are big names with international pedigree.
"Pep (Guardiola) is a manager admired across the world - what he's done in the game speaks for itself.
"The success he's had is unbelievable and the style of football he plays really appeals to me. I know I'm going to have to work hard to get into the side, but that's what I'm here to do."

Ake also sent a farewell message to his former club Bournemouth in a post on his Instagram account.
It read: "I want to say goodbye after a fantastic time at Bournemouth. I want to thank everybody involved with the club for everything over the past years! I've had a fantastic few years playing at Dean Court learning so much and creating some amazing memories!
"Thank you to all the staff and players who made me feel welcome from the first minute. Because of you, I am now able to make this next step.
"Lastly I would like to thank all the fans who've been amazing to me from the minute I arrived. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring this to a good end, but I am sure we will see each other again in the future!"
Ake joined Bournemouth on 30 June 2017, for a club-record fee of £20 million from Chelsea after a loan spell at the club.
Since then he established himself as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League playing every single match for Bournemouth.
His hard work earned him to sign for one of the best teams in the Premier League, and he will be looking forward to making his debut with Manchester city.
