Everton in advanced talks to sign James Rodriguez
Everton has contacted Real Madrid for the signing of their midfielder James Rodriguez on a permanent deal.
James was more of an unused substitute in the just concluded 2019/2020 season having fallen in the pecking order of his manager Zinedine Zidane.
He made only eight appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga in the 2019/2020 season, and his former manager Carlo Ancelotti who signed him in 2014 during his time at Madrid is pushing for the signature of the Colombian international player.
James is a player who is capable of playing in the midfield and also as a winger will be an option for Ancelotti's team in both roles whenever it is needed.
The midfielder's skills and dribbles are also fantastic, and with his speed, he will help Everton in going for a counter-attack.
A move to Everton will be a good addition for Ancelotti's team due to his experience at top clubs and his winning mentality
On 11 July 2017, James was loaned to Bayern Munich on a season-long loan of two years in what many football fans taught was the end of his career at Santiago Bernabéu.
After James' successful loan spell in the Bundesliga he won two Bundesliga titles and one DFB-Pokal: 2018–19 before returning to Madrid. It was rumoured then that Bayern was considering making his deal permanent, but the deal never happened.
Coming back to Madrid James won the 2019/2020 La Liga title adding to the trophies he has already won with the club- two Champions League, one La Liga title, two FIFA Club World Cup, one Supercopa de España and two UEFA Super Cup.
James will be hoping to join his former manager in the Premier League and get more playing time.
