Leicester City demands £60m from Chelsea for Ben Chilwell
Chelsea will reportedly have to pay over a fee of £60m to acquire the services of Leicester City's Ben Chilwell
Ben Chilwell is regarded as one of the best left-back in Premier League with his pace moving forward so astonishing added to his energy. The Leicester City player has been in fine form this season and has attracted the interest of Chelsea.
It is understood that Leicester is demanding up to £60m from the London club before acquiring the service of Chilwell. This season Leceister sold their centre back Harry Maguire to Manchester United in a world-record deal of £80m highest to any centre back in the football world, and Leceister will be hoping to gain an amount close to that of Maguire.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is working on rebuilding his squad after failing to sign a single player in last January transfer window. The club has already sign Hakim Ziyech from Eredivisie club Ajax and has also agreed on a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner after Liverpool and Manchester United was unable to meet up his release clause of £54 million.
Looking forward to reinforcing their backline Chilwell will be an excellent addition to the blues as Marcos Alonso is very weak in defending and lacks the strength Chilwell can provide to the squad. Buying Chilwell for such amount will see Chelsea's combined spending for new signings rise to £91 million.
Chilwell's form has gained him a call up in the England national team after Manchester United Luke Shaw was Injured in preparation for Euro Qualification. He will be hoping to maintain his spot in the team as there is a lot of competition between the England team that is full of young talented players with Luke Shaw and Danny Rose playing in the same position.
The Premier League will resume its league on June 17 to finish up their league which was suspended due to coronavirus Pandemic. Leceister is in the third position of the Premier League table above Chelsea who is in the fourth position five-point behind Leicester and will hope to finish at the top.
