Read Madrid crowned La Liga champions after cruising past Villareal
Spanish giants Real Madrid, has finally sealed the 2020 La Liga title to make it their 34th after beating Villareal 2-1 at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
The game which Madrid knew it is a must-win match started hotly, but Madrid recorded their first goal in the 29 minutes after the clubs' highest goal scorer Karim Benzema converted Luka Modric assist.
After one nill in the second half, Madrid scored the second goal in the 77 minutes after they were given a penalty from a foul against Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. The first penalty kick was disallowed as Ramos passed the ball for Benzema to score.
As the penalty was repeated, Benzema converted the penalty to make it 2-0. The visitor got a consolation in the 80th minute with a goal from Iborra. Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made a crucial save to deny the visitor a late equalizer.

There was a massive celebration by Real Madrid players after the final whistle as club sealed the 2020 La Liga title to make it their 34th La Liga title. The winning made it ten straight wins in a row for Madrid.
Speaking at the press conference, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos praised their manager Zinadine Zidane as he helped them lift the trophy.
"Everything Zidane touches turns into gold," said the Madrid defender. "We believe in him and his work. He's the one who has to make the difference, he's a person who trusts players, and few do.
"We hope he stays here for a very long time; he is unique."

Ramos said that winning the title was because of the hard work the players have done, and it paid them well.
"The title is a reward for work, consistency, and balance. What we have done has great value, despite what they may say, he added.
“Work, when you do it right, is rewarded. There is a lot of merit in winning these ten games in a row.
“It was an atypical season; we had to win everything; we did not depend on ourselves at the start. The margin of error did not exist in our heads, and we have shown it.
"These matches cannot be won comfortably. We have 34 Ligas, and this is my fifth with Real Madrid, I am very happy. "
The Spanish international insisted that he is ready to end his career at Bernabéu, "Whatever the president wants, I would be delighted, I would like to end my career here.
"I don't think there will be a problem, either for me or for the president."
Real Madrid manager Zidane also praised his player for the excellent work they did.
"The players have been fighting since I've been here. I have my job, but the most important job is theirs. They fight on the field, and they're a team of people rather than just players," Zidane said.
"The Champions League is the Champions League. But La Liga needs a tremendous effort. There are 38 matches and to have the most points at the end is absolutely brilliant.
"Winning ten games in a row is impressive. It's a team thing, we fought until the end, and we are very happy. I have no words. I have a great feeling."

The manager greeted all Madrid fans and urged them to celebrate the trophy at home.
"It's strange for everyone, but we cannot control it," he said after the title-clinching win over Villarreal.
"We would have liked to have been at Cibeles, but we can't go for health reasons, and the fans know it. At home, they are happy to see their team win another Liga. My greetings to all Real Madrid fans!"
