Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solsjkaer has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will be signing a permanent deal with Inter Milan.

The manager confirmed the transfer in a post-match conference following the clubs 2-1 victory against LASK at Old Trafford in the Europa League last night.

In a statement, he said, "I can confirm that he's agreed and we've agreed," Solskjaer said. "Alexis enjoyed his time there.

"They've liked him, so of course that's a good move for him. Wish him all the best. He's a top player, that we want to see play his best football.

"For whatever reason, we didn't see the best of Alexis, but he's a top professional and we just wish him all the best."

Sanchez was loaned to Inter Milan on 29 August 2019 to gain regular first-team football after falling down the pecking order in the Solsjkaer's Manchester United team.

Since joining the club, he has been in a fine form for Inter, scoring four goals and providing nine assists in 22 Serie A appearances.

The Chilean professional footballer has been a flop at Manchester United since joining the club from Arsenal in January transfer window.

Moving to Inter has made the 31-year-od striker regain his form, and he has felt comfortable with the club.

There have been rumours claiming that Inter is pushing to sign the striker permanently.

This claim has now been confirmed, and Sanchez will be following Inter to participate in the 2020/2021 Champions League after finishing second in the 2019/2020 Italian Serie A table with Inter.
