If you want to know what a day in the life of a Californian is like, it will help to look at life in Los Angeles. First, no one says Los Angeles; it's L.A.! Second, life in L.A. is not very different from life in every other big city globally.
However, people in L.A. spend a lot of time in their cars, so don't be surprised to see a person who makes $60000 a year driving a $50000 car.
When it comes to day-to-day life, it all depends on the part of L.A. you live in. For example, if you live near the beach communities like San Pedro and Venice, you'll have to adopt a beach life mentality.
On the other hand, if you are inland, your focus would be to avoid the heat and plan how to move closer to the beach.
That said, several activities are typical in the lives of the people living in California. They include:
1. Beat the Traffic
You'll hear people in L.A. claiming that the freeways are hell. While there is some truth in that, if you can tell time, it will help you to beat the traffic.
This is because bad traffic periods in the city on all freeways usually begin and end on a schedule. For instance, heavy traffic begins at around 3:24 pm and lasts up to around 7:48 pm before it vanishes like magic.
2. Eat Organic Food
California loves to eat organic. Reports also suggest that Californian farmers produce much of the organic foods Americans buy. California is home to organic farms like those in Carmel Valley and Salinas.
Therefore, while in L.A., you can eat organic or visit a local shop to buy organic food products and drinks. Some things you can enjoy are fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and berries.
3. Get Passionate
California is home to Silicon Valley, making it the home of high-tech innovation. If you are in Pasadena, you will cross paths with some of the brightest minds, including inventors, industry leaders, and start-ups.
During your day, ensure you spare some time to enjoy yourself. For instance, you can gamble online in California to join other gamblers having fun online playing.
You can also use that time for personal growth, living each day to the fullest, and taking advantage of your surroundings.
4. See the Sights
If your schedule allows, take some time to explore the environment. For instance, you can check out one of the rugged national parks to feed your soul.
Some parks you can visit include "Land of Giants" at Sequoia National Park. Suppose you want some peace and quiet you can take a walk in the vast woodlands. Nothing beats a nature walk.
However, if nature walks are not your thing, don't fret. You can sample California's top-rated designer boutiques or visit the beaches. On the other hand, you can go to an exquisite coffee shop, sit outside, and watch people go about their business.
5. Get Active
People in California, especially those in Los Angeles, the Angeles National Forest, and Pasadena, love to stay active and live a healthy life.
You can join them by taking a bike riding trip through the bike paths that traverse lush woodlands. Moreover, there are several hiking trails you can try. You can also engage in an early morning run or an end-of-the-day yoga session.
Final Thoughts
With these activities in mind, you have a glimpse at what the people in California would do on a typical day. Depending on your occupation, you can fit these different activities into your day.
Nonetheless, the city is very spread; therefore, moving from place to place might take some time. Also, expect it to be hot unless it is winter.
