BBNaija 2022 winner: Phyna emerges victorious wins, N100m prize

Energy Queen and hype woman, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has emerged winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7(Level Up) after beating her closest rival and contender, Bryann.
The big announcement of Phyna as the winner of the BBNaija was made by the show's host Ebuka Uchendu at the grand finale on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Before the winner was announced on Sunday, the housemates evicted were Chizzy, Rachel, Daniella, Chichi, Adekunle, and Bella, leaving Bryann and Phyna as the top two housemates contending for the N100m grand prize after spending 10 weeks in the house.
Ebuka, dressed in a regal wine-coloured outfit, kept the audience and viewers in suspense as they hesitated to mention the grand prize and season winner.
At the mention of Phyna's name as the winner, the live audience burst into a happy frenzy with shock written all over Phyna's face.
The vote hart was displayed with Phynabagging 40.74% votes, Bryann 26.74%, Bella 15.78%, Adekunle, 12.35%, Chichi 2.49% and Daniella 1.88%.
In his last address to the final two contestants, Biggie said, “the world now awaits you. You may now leave the Big Brother house.”
Phyna, who won the show, will be walking home with an N100m grand prize— a cash prize of N50m and N50m worth of prizes from the sponsors.
BBNaija winner Phyna was not the only one who won big at the grand finale show; 30 fans of the show also won N1m each in the ‘Fave Lock-In’ promo exclusive to DStv and GOtv customers.
The show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, moments before the beginning of the live eviction, paid tributes to all the housemates.
“A tribute to the #BBNaija, Level Up housemates as we wind down a most eventful season. It’s finale time.”

The seventh season, tagged Level Up, premiered on 23 and 24 July 2022.
And unlike previous seasons, the reality show was packed with surprises, twists and turns.
First, 24 housemates were placed in two houses for this season. The first 12 housemates were placed in the Level Two house, while the second 12 who were introduced on Sunday were placed in the Level One house.

Phyna won the Head of House title while in the house, making her one of the top three females to achieve this feat.

When it comes to delivering premium content, Phyna always takes the lead. She was involved with fellow housemate Groovy, thus putting her in the Beauty-Groovy-Phyna love triangle. At some point, her lover Groovy began to eye fellow housemate Chomzy.
3. Fan base
Winner of season 7 BBNaija show, Phyna has a cult-like fan base, Phynation outside the house. Her emerging winner of the show puts her in the record books as the second female to become the official winner of the BBNaija reality show after Mercy Eke.
4. Hustler
Phyna has never hidden her background or struggles from fellow housemates. She had always made claims about being a hustler who warmed her way into the hearts of people by being herself.
According to her, she has struggled to be everything that she is today all by herself.

Phyna is the first female Level Up housemate to get verified on Instagram with about 246k followers on the social media platform at the time.
