The life of a Nigerian billionaire businessman and socialite, Obi Cubana, has been in the limelight after a controversial social media post. Obi Cubana is married to Ebele Iyiegbu, popularly called Lusheby and is blessed with five boys. Obi Cubana's two sons at the heart of the matter are his adopted first son, Chidi, and his first biological son, Alex, who is on his Instagram as @dtwalx.

When the wait seemed endless, they opted to adopt a child, whom they named Chidi. Later on Obi Cubana and his wife conceived naturally, adding four boys, including Alex his second son.

It all started when Chidi joined the viral TikTok challenge, posting a video with the caption 'Nothing do my shoulder, I just realise say I be next of kin'. This Tik-Tok challenge was in the context of a social media trend, but Obi Cubana responded with a subtle but clear response.
The businessman took to his Instagram to share a photo with his biological son Alex and the caption: "Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka Next-of-kin! 🤣🥰". Obi Cubana further stressed his point when he made another comment in another post, referring to Alex as the ‘Correct boy, original next-of-kin’. The wave of reactions and conversations engulfed the online users after this public exchange.
Also, Obi Cubana's wife, Ebele Iyiegbu has taken to her Instagram account to bash people who are bashing his husband for his opinion about Alex being his original next of kin, she believe that social media always have an opinion about matter that they dont know about.
Nigerians reaction
Obi Cubana’s recent Instagram post, which includes an explanation of the line of succession in traditional terms, has not been well received. Some thought the issue should have been handled privately, while others argued that his need to clear the air publicly was reasonable. It's the story that unfolds of family, tradition, and always the presence of social media in the life of a public figure.
Pharaoh, an X user, said that Nigerians are dishonest people, he believes that no one will ever make his or her adopted son his/her next of kin, surmising that Obi Cubana's action is justifiable.
This opinion was seconded by Big Ayo, also an X user, he further stated that the boy should not have posted such a challenge, and Obi Cubana should not have posted too
But Buchi, an X user, was of a different opinion; he believes that it is irresponsible and crass of Obi Cubana to have posted such content on Instagram when he could have easily asked his son Chidi to take down the post.
Aanu was seen to have the same view: he believed that Obi Cubana had set up his son for drag, “A simple DM asking him to delete the video would have done the job” he stated
