2face Idibia is currently the subject of media hype for his romantic involvement with Honourable Natasha Osawaru who serves as a lawmaker at Edo State House of Assembly. News outlets confirm that Honourable Osawaru changed her Instagram bio to show "Idibia" as her surname resulting in "Honourable Natasha IDIBIA" display. The cultural tradition of surname adoption signals marriage in Nigerian society so this move has sparked widespread curiosity. 

Yesterday in her plenary session at the Edo State House of Assembly Honourable Osawaru presented herself to the "Mr Speaker" as "Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru nee Idibia". The assembly members started laughing and giving friendly ribbing after this proclamation because the name introduction including "nee" as a birth name marker appeared strange to them.

The adoption of "Idibia" by Honourable Natasha Osawaru has caused substantial public reactions throughout Nigerian Twitter (now X) users and various social media networks. People find it remarkable that quick changes took place after Tuface Idibia declared his divorce from Annie Macaulay-Idibia. 

People show two main reactions to this news: some wonder about a hidden wedding and others strongly disapprove of it since they followed Tuface through his multiple issues with his ex-wife. Internet users have pointed out what they believe to be an incorrect usage of "nee" by Honourable Osawaru while examining the public reaction to this situation. 

Nigerians seems to have different understanding of what "Nee" means, Tobenna Ifesinachi from x tweeted that why the lawmaker made such a mistake is because of illiteracy.

while Last B tweeted "Nee Idibia Lemao, dont just carry everything you see on obitiuary perosn", this to say that she believed that "Nee" is used for dead people only.

The Backstory: 2Face Idibia and Annie Macaulay-Idibia marriage issue

In earlier events that started during the year. Tuface Idibia disclosed his divorce plans with Annie Macaulay-Idibia to the public in January 2025. Tuface Idibia publicly proposed to Honourable Natasha Osawaru through a viral video which appeared in February 2025.

Through the video the singer clearly showed his affection for Edo lawmaker Honourable Natasha Osawaru while declaring marriage plans and confirming that his relationship with her did not trigger his divorce with Annie. 

Annie Macaulay-Idibia also returned the favour by removing the Idibia name from her Instagram profile while expressing gratitude to her supporters for staying with her all this while. 

Who is Honourable Natasha Osawaru:  Biography Natasha Osawaru

The Nigerian politician Natasha Osawaru who is 30 years old serves as Deputy Majority Leader in Edo House of Assembly and represents Egor Constituency. She was elected in April 2023. She belongs to an established family and is the grandchild to Chief Gabriel Igbinedion who holds a place among Nigeria's wealthiest individuals.

The parents of Natasha Osawaru are Desmond Osawaru and Philomina Osawaru (née Igbinedion). Before starting her political career Honourable Osawaru dedicated many years to her studies. The legislator obtained her law degree at Igbinedion University followed by a film production M.A. from Full Sail University in America.

Before entering politics she earned high esteem through work supporting young people and women. Together with her swift political rise in Edo state and her strong educational background she has become an important political figure in the state.
