 Funke Akindele's first marriage

On May 26 2012, the actress Funke Akindele married Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, aka “Kenny Doo”.

In May 2013, there were hints of crisis in the marriage as the star actress Funke appeared on the red carpet for events without her husband by her side.

On July 11, 2013, the couple divorced after citing irreconcilable differences. News about her marriage went viral as her ex-husband Kehinde announced it on Facebook in a now-deleted post.

Last year, in August 2021, Funke spoke about why her first marriage hit the rocks.

“You know, I just wanted to get married,” Akindele-Bello said. “I want to do things right, have children and all that. And I went into the (first) marriage; it didn’t work fine. And it ended in a very bad way, in social media, the noise was everywhere. I was actually filming, and somebody called me and told me I wanted to die!

As the news of her failed marriage went viral, Funke poured herself into her acting career.

“You know I cried, lost some good deals then. But I didn’t let it break me.” She said.

According to JJC Skillz, he met the screen diva when she needed someone to direct her "Jenifa's Diary" Tv series.

“When I met her, I just met someone that wanted a director for her TV show; Jenifa’s Diary. That was in 2013.

January 2015-Sparks had begun to fly, and there was love tension between the two, even though they tried to keep their relationship professional.

"We tried to keep the whole work as professional as possible, but along the line, emotions ran high, and that's how I proposed to her." JJC Skillz disclosed in an interview.

January 19, 2016 - Speculations of their love bond and news headlines were buzzing about Funke Akindele finding love again in the arms of music producer JJC Skillz.

From reports, the couple were reportedly spotted in London, and the actress was reported to have been visiting London a lot.

February 2016 - JJC Skillz and Funke Akindele were prepped and ready to walk down the aisle. The 'Jenifa' star had agreed to marry the London-based musician Abdul Rasheed Bello, JJC Skillz, after he asked her hand in marriage.

"I’m a romantic person, so I gave her a dose of it. It wasn’t in an open place because only very few people knew it then. So, that day, she came home to meet flowers and candles everywhere; quite a romantic set-up. When she saw it, she had no choice but to say ‘Yes’.” JJC Skillz reveals.

March 2016 - Akindele and Bello were spotted at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

The " couple" were seen showing a public display of affection as they left the Eko Hotel Conference Centre venue of the awards ceremony together on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

April 2016 - Funke Akindele finally clears the air on her relationship as she confirms her engagement to JJC in an interview. Speaking with Saturday Beats, Funke says, "I really don’t like discussing my private life anymore because it pays to keep that part of your life secret…. it is better to keep matters of the heart close to the heart.

June 2016 - The "Jenifa" star, Funke, further confirms she and JJC Skillz will be together forever as she displays her engagement ring.

August 2016 - Award-winning actress Funke Akindele marries her boo JJC in a secret wedding ceremony on August 23, 2016, in London.

Akindele confirmed that, indeed, a wedding took place by using her husband's surname, Abdul Rasheed Bello, JJC Skillz, on all her social media handles.

On December 22, 2018, Funke and JJC welcomed their twin babies. Funke’s sister, Ayo Ola-Muhammed, broke the news on Instagram on Saturday.

The boys arrived on Friday in Los Angeles, U.S. They are the couple’s first children since they tied the knot in 2016 in the United Kingdom.

The 41-year-old actress lost a set of twins in 2017. A popular pastor, Olagorioye Faleyimu who predicted that the actress would remain childless, was trolled by Nigerians on social media.

Akindele also confirmed the good news in a post thanking God for giving her a 'new name'.

April 11, 2022- Rumours spread on alleged trouble in Funke Akindele and JJC's paradise.

In the heat of the rumours, taking to the comment section on a TikTok post, a young boy identified online as Beniboibb reacted to the post that claimed all was not well in the marriage. The young boy is the son of JJC Skillz and Funke Akindele's stepson.

According to him, Funke is not actually what people think she is. Not stopping there, Benito added that he lived in their house for two years, and it was horrible.

However, JJC Skillz, Beniboibb's father, has debunked all crisis claims in their marriage.

In a post shared on his Instagram, JJC, presently in London, implied that their marriage is good.

He wrote, “The only rock that stays steady and the only institution I know that works is marriage.
