At the age of 30, Asake, a Nigerian singer & songwriter who has an impressive net worth of $1.2 million, is yet another brilliant A-list stage performer in the hyper-competitive Nigerian music market. He switched from dance to music after joining Obafemi Awolowo University, a prestigious Nigerian tertiary institution that offers degrees in Theatre Arts, and soon drew attention on campus with a hit single.

Prior to establishing himself as the artist with the longest unbroken run in the Spotify Top Artists Nigeria chart, he signed with YBNL in February 2022 after being invited by the record label due to his talent.

His 6th single "Omo Ope” debuted at automatic position 1 on the Apple Music Nigeria Charts, and their single “Bandana” featuring Fireboy DML, was the most streamed song in Nigeria with a total of 77 million on-demand streams.

Asake had seven Number One singles by September 2022 and was able to sell out O2 Academy Brixton in London in five minutes, establishing Asake as a well-respected up-and-coming authority in the Nigerian music scene.

After the success of "Omo-Ope" and Asake's signing to YBNL, the record label issued "Ololade Asake," his debut EP, which contained the tracks "Omo Ope ft Olamide (one of Nigeria's richest musicians) " "Trabaye," "Sungba," and "Baba God." After attaining two Number One singles and having "Sungba" remixed by Burna Boy (Nigeria's best artist), Asake embarked on an extraordinary run of multiple entries at the summit of the rankings.

As of September 2022, Asake had amassed an unprecedented seven Number One singles, preeminent in the annals of Afrobeats.

Among these chart-topper songs are: "Omo-Ope," "Sungba," "Sungba Rmx ft Burna," “Palazzo” by Spinall, “Peace Be Unto You,” “Bandana” by Fireboy, “Terminator” and, one of Asake's biggest bangers, “Lonely at the top”.

Asake received the Audiomack Award for Artiste of the Year in commemoration of his 2022 which was great in all senses due to the many songs that he popularly engaged with during the year that he performed exceptionally.

In a press statement, Audiomack praised Asake's first album ‘Mr Money With The Vibe' for the fourth consecutive month. Over the audio content platform, the album has been streamed nearly 500 million times. It also made history as the best-selling debut album by a Nigerian artist when it debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200.

He emerged as the face of Nigeria in 2022 owing to his Fuji-Amapiano fusion. While this achievement was already a significant one in its own right, more was to come as it was a prelude to even more remarkable achievements.

“Mr. Money With The Vibe” was released on Apple Music and achieved the best first-day sales record for any African album, a record that would last for three full days as well.

As per the reports, a particular trend was recorded where nine songs after their release peaked at number one on the Global Daily Top 100 charts, thereby breaking a record.

'Mr. Money With The Vibe,' easily surpassed all other African albums in terms of best performances, charting at the top of the level albumates conclusively in 31 nations including Nigeria, the UK, and Ireland!

A total of several songs crossed the debut mark in the Daily Top 100 across nearly 60 countries, out of which 26 entered into the top ten whereas 14 reached the top position, the Number One.

With the September 2022 achievements, Asake engraved his name on the pages of the TurnTable Charts as he became the first ever and the only artist to have 8 songs entering the top ten chart positions in a week. This feat further surpassed the previous record owned by Davido, showcasing how great Asake is in the music business.

Asake's name soon became a big hit following his headlining performance on Day 2 of the Flytime Group-Flutterwave FLYTIME FEST 2022 – a multi-day concert headlined by major artists, on December 22. The cost of Zone A tickets starts at 10 million naira, 8 million for Zones B and C, 4 million for Zone D, and 3 million for Zones E and F. VIP tickets also offered front-row views of the stage but required a seated fee of 70,000.

Asake's skills were on show and his earnings increased at the Memorial Day weekend Afro Nation Festival in Miami which took place at the LoanDepot Park. And also he confirmed his participation as an act at the first Ever Beer With Us Festival on 6th January 2023 at Landmark Leisure Beach Oniru, Lagos State.

After the success of his album, Asake started a world tour. He then came back to O2 Brixton Academy in London for three sold out shows and a return to the venue in 2023 as part of the World tour. 

On stage, he sang his songs named Yoga and Organise which were part of his recently released album named Mr Money With The Vibes during the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in March 2023.

More importantly, Asake headlined Afro Nation – the Portimão, Portugal-based Afrobeats festival, further cementing his place in the global Music matrix and earning himself a lifetime net worth of over 1 million dollars.

On September 8, 2023, Asake set a record by being the first Afrobeats artist to headline the renowned 19,000-seat Brooklyn Centre in New York, where he also sold out the venue. As such, he became the first Afrobeats artist in history to perform as a headliner and sell out the Barclays Centre completely.

The artist rounded up his North American tour with Arthur’s show which has been a huge success in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and Washington, D.C.

It can be recalled that “Lonely At The Top” made history when it stayed at number one on the TurnTable Top 100 chart for a record 12 weeks in a row, something no other Nigerian song had done.

This mid-tempo song that revolves around the scepticism and the isolation that comes with great achievements, went ahead of Omah Lay in record the most number of weeks at the top of the charts. “Godly” earned 8 weeks at the top of the charts.

In 2023, Asake sold out a concert at the O2 Arena in London and in the process became part of very few African artists to have made it onto this worldwide stage.

Asake also reached another significant point in November 2023 hitting the mark of 100 million streams of “Lonely At The Top” on the site Audiomack which once again had never been done on any song on that platform.

In a surprise turn of events, American rapper Dababy was invited by Asake to come to the Coca-Cola Arena and perform at his Afroworld concert in Dubai.

On June 22, 2023, Asake along with Culture Rated on Prime Video went to the Paris fashion week. He represented Dope Africans and showed how Africa is represented in cultural spaces all over the world.
